Ukraine's exports of steel pipes decreased by 10.5% year-on-year to 1.28
million mt from January to August, down from 1.43 million mt exported a
year ago, the state statistics committee reported Tuesday.
Ukraine's revenues from exports of steel pipes increased by 16.5%
year-on-year to $1.76 billion, up from $1.51 billion in from January to August
2007.
In August Ukraine exported 158,800 mt of steel pipes, down from 159,690
mt exported in July and down from 162,610 mt exported in August 2007.
Ukraine exported 674,420 mt of seamless pipes in January-August, up from
657,160 mt exported a year ago. Ukraine also exported 230,200 mt of
large-diameter pipes in the period, down from 405,730 mt, while exports of
small-diameter pipes and tubes increased to 375,000 mt, up from 318,500 mt
exported in January-August 2007, the committee said.
The statistics committee said that Ukraine shipped most of its seamless
pipes to Russia, the US and Kazakhstan, with large-diameter pipes were
supplied mostly to Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Small-diameter
pipes and tubes were mostly shipped to Russia, Germany, Belarus and Poland.
The country exported 2 million mt of steel pipes worth $2.24 billion in
2007, compared with 2.02 million mt worth about $1.88 billion exported in
2006.
