The Russian steelmaker Severstal released its operating result for the Q4 and 2013. The company’s crude steel output totaled 3.78 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2013, dropping by 7% from a quarter ago. At the same time, the company’s hot metal output decreased by 1% from the previous quarter to hit 2.68 million tons. In 2013, Severstal increased its crude steel output by 4% to 15.7 million tons from last year. Production of hot metal also saw an increase of 5% from 2012, reaching 10.71 million tons. In the same year, Severstal's Russian Steel division posted a 3% rise in steel product sales and Severstal North America reported a 4% decrease, both compared to the figures in a year ago. |
