The report is devoted to research of ferrochrome market in the CIS and forecast of its development.

The report is composed of 8 Chapters, contains 122 pages, including 57 Tables, 27 Figures, as well as Appendix with contact information on the main company-producers.

As informational sources, we used data of Federal Service of State Statistics of Russia; of Federal Customs Service of Russia; Statistics of domestic railage in Russia; Statistic Agency of Kazakhstan; State Customs Committee of Ukraine; Geological Service of USA (USGS); sectoral conferences, handbooks, periodicals; regional mass-media; web-sites, annual and quarterly reports of companies; consultations with specialists.

The first Chapter of the report presents review of world market of chrome resources and ferrochrome: reserves and volumes of mining of chrome ores; description of mined deposits, methods of mining and kinds of products of the main mining enterprises; dynamics and tendencies of development of world market of chrome ores, ferrochrome and stainless steel.

The second Chapter describes the main deposits of chrome in CIS countries.

The third Chapter considers requirements, imposed on properties of chrome ores in various sectors of industry, technologies of their concentration, description of all involved mining companies in the CIS, dynamics of production, import and export of chrome ores in 1995-2007, as well as sectoral structure of consumption of chrome resources in Russia. The main attention is paid to structure of mining companies, their productive capacities and dynamics of mining of commodity chrome ores. For large mining companies, the main end-uses and enterprises are given. Besides, companies are described, which prepares commercial mining of chrome deposits to start in nearest years. In connection with the fact that in the latest 4 years Russia imports around 40% of required chrome ores in average, the chapter analyses in details dynamics of Russian imports of the resources from the main country-suppliers, as well as average import prices.

The fourth Chapter is devoted to description of ferrochrome production in the CIS in 1995-2007. It presents requirements imposed on quality of ferrochrome, as well as describes various technologies of its production. Besides, dynamics of ferrochrome production, as well as current standing of plant-producers is presented. The main attention in description of ferroalloy plants is paid to supplies of chrome resources, plans on modernization and development, key markets, as well as financial results of their activity.

The fifth Chapter presents dynamics of export and import of ferrochrome in Russia (1995-2007), Kazakhstan (2005-2007) and Ukraine (1999-2007).

The sixth Chapter presents review of dynamics of average annual domestic, export and import prices on ferrochrome in Russia in 1995-2007.

The seventh Chapter describes domestic consumption of ferrochrome in Russia in 1998-2007. The Chapter presents supply-demand balance of ferrochrome, estimate of pattern of consumption of ferrochrome and dynamics of development of the main end-uses (sectors of metallurgical industry, consuming ferrochrome). Besides, it presents data on import and domestic supplies of ferrochrome by railway to the main Russian producers of stainless, alloyed and carbon steels.

The eighth Chapter offers forecast of development of ferrochrome market in the CIS up to 2012 and its substantiation.
