[Ferro-Alloys.com] In China, the situation of silicon metal spot goods being scarce has still continued, and the current price went up. On the other hand, the Japanese domestic price has remained unchanged from mid-May. This is because, as the cheap electricity rate for a full-water season is to be applied to southern China from June, the customers are taking a wait-and-see attitude while expecting a price fall. However, the occasional purchases by the customers which are worried about their in-hand stocks are taking place. Albeit the price negotiation for the period from July to September will start in June, it is also pointed out in China that the movement based on the seasonal factors has become weak, and therefore there is a possibility that the price in the Chinese domestic market will not become weakened until mid-June.
