In the last week of Aug., chrome alloy spot market is still silent. Quotations of high-carbon ferrochrome (60-65% Cr6-8% C) stay at last week's $1.04-1.10/lb Cr DDP. 0ne trader offers the alloy (65% Cr) at $1.05-1.06/lb Cr ex-warehouse in Rotterdam. At the same time, the alloy producer reports sale of 1,500 t of the alloy in Central Europe at $1.15/lb Cr DDP. Market players think stainless steel producers have rather ambitious plans on Q4,which is suppliers are going to sell large batches of chrome alloys and push through a notable price increase.
low-carbon ferrochrome (65-70% Cr; 0.1% C) offers have been staying at $2.09-2.13/lb Cr DDP,which is the same as last week. However, sellers are ready to ship only large batches at the bottom end of the price range.
