Corporacion Nacional del Cobre (CODELCO), Chile has recently announced the results of its production and sales in the period from January to June in 2014. This announcement shows the production volume of molybdenum in pure element equivalent is 35.3 million lbs (16,000 tons), which represented a drastic increase of 45.5% versus the year-earlier period (24.3 million lbs = 11,000 tons).

For a reference, the breakdown of Company's production volumes of other items is <> Copper (including El Abra and Anglo mines): 877,000 tons (up by 4.0% from the year-earlier period), <> Silver: 173 tons (up by 35% ditto) and <> Gold: 1.2 tons (up by 6% ditto).

On the other hand, the sales volume of molybdenum in pure element equivalent was 27.6 million lbs (12,500 tons), up by 17% from the year-earlier period (23.6 million lbs = 10,700 tons). For a reference, the sales volume of copper was 779,000 tons (down by 7% from the year-earlier period), which however included 37,000 tons for the third party's interest, and the same based on the Company's interest was 742,000 tons (down by 4% ditto).
