[Ferro-Alloys.com]From late October to early November, both the prices and market capacity of low-and micro-carbon ferrochrome dipped. And Baosteel lowered its tender price for low-carbon ferrochrome. Due to the narrowed market capacity, the producers in Northern China reduced their production and planned to clear their stock, and some of them terminated their production for new orders. The dry season of Southern China raised the electricity prices which increased the producers’ production costs, which made them refused to lower their prices. Meanwhile some producers either closed their plants or changed their equipment to produce other products.
Currently, the mainstream prices for low-carbon ferrochrome C25 is ¥11,600-11,700/mt in Liaoning, Jilin, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia; and it is RMB11,900-12,000/mt in Sichuan and Jiangsu. And the mainstream prices for micro-carbon ferrochrome C10 is ¥11,800-11,900/mt in Liaoning, Jilin, Shanxi and Inner Mongolia; and it is ¥12,100-12,200/mt in Sichuan and Jiangsu.
