Yongzhou City and the China Minemetals Corporation signed a cooperative framework agreement in Changsha to develop rare earth and manganese industries with an annual output value of RMB10 billion each on August 26, 2011.
Zhou Qiang, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended the signing ceremony. Zhou Zhongshu, president of the China Minemetals Corporation, and Xu Shousheng, governor of Hunan Province, delivered speeches.
China Minemetals has carried out large-scale industrial projects and resource development since it inked all-round economic and technological cooperation agreement with Hunan in 2006. According to the agreement signed this time, the corporation will increase its investment in Hunan and explore non-ferrous metals such as rare earth and manganese together with Yongzhou.
President Zhou Zhongshu said that the agreement will promote deeper and wider cooperation between the two sides. He pledged that his corporation will contribute to Hunan's development of green mining industry, especially non-ferrous metal industry.
Mr. Mei hoped that China Minemetals will expand cooperation with Hunan via the agreement. Hunan will back up the corporation’s development here.
