[Ferro-Alloys.com]It seems that downtrend of future shipment from oversea miners coupled with flat manganese alloyin China further push down imported manganese ore spot market in China. The spot market showed a RMB1-2/mtu fluctuation from early period.

Australian Mn46 lumps were focused on RMB31.5-32.5/mtu at ports in China. As for Mn48 sand ore, it was quoted at RMB30.5.-31.5/mtu in China. South African Mn38 lumps were priced at RMB28.5-29.5/mtu while RMB31.5-32/mtu for Mn32%Fe20%. Meanwhile, Gabonese Mn 45-46 lumps lingered about RMB29.5-30.5/mtu at ports. Brazilian Mn 44-45% lumps fixed at RMB 29-30/mtu in China.

In terms of future price, As BHP lowered March manganese ore shipment to China, other miners also cut quotation by different margin. CML pushed Mn46% Fe6% SI14% P0.05%  down to USD3.90/mtu from USD4.35/mtu in prior month. Eramet Comilog Mn43% Fe<5% Gabonese sand ore edged down to USD3.4/mtu and USD3.7/mtu for Gabonese Mn44-45% Fe<5% lump ore. UMK South African Mn36-37% lump ore was quoted at USD 3.3/mtu CIF in China.

In short, manganese ore market demand showed pick up slightly as some alloys recovered normal operation after holiday. Given condition of manganese alloys become worse, it is estimated that manganese ore spot market would hard to get out of downtrend in March.
