US -99% Si imports jump

US imports of less than 99% silicon were 4,901.9 mt in July and 29,172.4 mt in first seven months of 2011 vs. 2,947.6 mt and 19,398.4 mt, respectively, in the same 2010 periods. The major suppliers in July (first seven months in parentheses) were: Brazil, 3,507.7 mt (14,564.7 mt); and Canada, 1,097.2 mt (8,523.1 mt)
