[Ferro-Alloys.com] In August 21, 2015, the 9th Cored Wires Application & Industrial Chain Summit was held in Days Hotel Beijing New Exhibition Center. Xu Luming, senior engineer, Beijing Shougang Ferroalloy Co., Ltd, presented a fantastic speech on the topic of “Equipment & production process flow Research”.

Professor Xu pointed out that China has reached world-class levels in CaSi production technology and equipments. But, the CaSi powder production process and flow was antiquated, which not only contaminate the environment but also blast incident happens occasionally that caused great loss.

Professor Xu specifically discussed some important technical issues.

• Small detritus equipment experiment
• Selection scheme of detritus equipment
• Selection of screening equipment
• Selection of transit equipment & elevating equipment
• Technical issues, such as anti-explosion, dust-proof and sound-proof.

Additionally, Professor Xu proposed that we should be open minded and proactive in innovation in which he mentioned the steelmaking way of “chrome ore + coke”, “manganese ore + coke + lime ball”, which could significantly reduce the production cost by 30yuan per ton. Also, he encouraged young people to undertake the technology innovation responsibilities and make a difference in the metallurgical industry.
