The world's second largest nickel producer Norilsk Nickel predicted that the global nickel supply shortage continued to extend, caused most companies lose profits and cut the production.

Norilsk Nickel estimated the global nickel supply shortage of 60,000 tons in 2016. Among them, there is supply shortage of 20,000 tons in this year, and 55,000 tons in next year.

Meanwhile, Norilsk pointed out that China would continue to reduce nickel-iron production output, due to nickel ban in Indonesia.
