[Ferro-Alloys.com] Last week, LME nickel price continued to loss further. In November 19, London nickel price closed at 8950USD, meaning that the 8000+ new period is beginning. Since October 28, nickel market experienced a continuous downturn and end up with 10540USD at that day. Twenty days later, it quoted at 8950USD, approximately down 1590USD during only two thirds of a month. Meanwhile, Shanghai nickel price dropped from 73100yuan to 68650yuan at the same time, a loss of 4450yuan.
The nickel price lost again and near the decades low essentially because the imbalance between supply and demand still exists. In an addition, China’s sluggish demand triggers more uncertainty and panic to the investors and drive them away from the capital market. The Fed’s stronger decision to hike the interest rate on December also weighs on the base metals’ prices while the greenback increases in value.
