According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), China’s crude steel output reached 738.38 million tons in the first eleven months, dropping by 2.2% year on year, which is in line with market participants’ expectations.
Meanwhile, China’s pig iron production dropped by 3.1% to 638.46 million tons, and finished steel production increased by 1% to 1.028 million tons compared to the same time of last year.
In November alone, the crude steel production of the major steelmakers totaled 63.32 million tons, decreasing by 1.6% compared from the same time a year earlier. The country’s daily crude steel production output reached 2.11 million tons, falling by 1.04% from the previous month.
