According to statistics, in December 2015, Vietnam imported 265,000 tons of scrap steel, an increase of 20.1% year on year. The imports amounted to US$46.58 million.
 
During 2015, Vietnam imported 3.186 million tons of scrap steel, down by 5.6% year on year. The average monthly imports were 265,000 tons. The imports amounted to US$8.856 billion, down by 34.9% year on year.
