Because of south factories had stopped furnaces since last December, and until now many south factories had few inventories, so the whole inventories decreased, while the demand was not positive. Some factories just according to the order, they now still operated furnaces. But they worried about the late market.

One south factories said, they now offer 553# without oxygen was RMB9200/MT to Chongqing, and one Inner Mongolia manager shipped 441# was RMB10100/MT in Jan., and now the price has decreased because of few orders, they always has the advantage. Some foreign trader purchased 553# without oxygen and still asked the price. As well, one manager want to purchase in a lower price in Jinan, he said if the price suitable and they can decrease transport fees, they will purchase more every month.

Now silicon metal price rang 553# without oxygen was RMB9400/MT-9500/MT Kunming exchange, and 441# was RMB10100/MT-10200/MT, Huangpu port 553# without oxygen was RMB9500/MT-9600/MT, the port average 441# price was RMB10300/MT-10400/MT. Chemical silicon metal average price was 421# was RMB10900/MT-11000/MT.
