[www.ferro-alloys.com] China's crude steel production fell in May compared to last month, as steel mills profits remained negative level. China's crude steel daily average production is expected to fall in June, due to steel mill blast furnace suspended for maintenance schedule in Tangshan.
In May of this year, China daily crude steel production reached 2.2743 million tons, down 1.72%, mainly due to steel prices plummeted in the month.
However, China May steel apparent consumption of crude steel was 61.84 million tons, an increase of 0.6% year on year, first positive growth in six months. If considered the inventory, the country’s crude steel showed a negative growth in real consumption in the month.
