[Ferro-Alloys.com] Due to the continued freezing period of CaSi market, many producers withdrew the CaSi industry. Because of the alternative products like metal calcium and CaBaSi alloy and their low cost, CaSi market is faced with huge pressure, the supply and demand of CaSi have been affected seriously.

Currently, only 4 furnaces 33000KVA are in normal but not full operation. The daily production is about 35 tons, which can hardly meet the daily production plan of 50 tons, due to the low level of technology. A small number of furnaces 1800KVA are in operation.

Insiders said that the production technology of CaSi should be improved. According to the insiders, though CaBaSi alloy is good alternative, CaSi still will occupy certain market share because of its special character as deoxidizer.
