[www.ferro-alloys.com]Ferro-molybdenum and molybdic oxide prices in Europe slid further on Wednesday July 6, as concerns over the availability of cheap Chinese material continued to weigh on sentiment.
Metal Bulletin’s European ferro-molybdenum price dropped to $16.75-17.30 per kg, while molybdic oxide slipped to $6.90-7 per lb, from $7-7.30. The general feeling among market participants is that although Chinese material may have a lower molybdenum content, its presence in Rotterdam is putting pressure on standard 65% material, as availability appears higher and at least some buyers are able to accept it.
