Chrome veteran Robert Yildirim bought Bear Metallurgical to expand into new ferro-alloys markets, the Turkish billionaire told Metal Bulletin as he hinted at future acquisitions.
YilMaden, part of the Yildirim Holding, the industrial group run by the three Yildirim brothers, acquired US noble alloys producer Bear Metallurgical for $7.925 million on Thursday September 8. The acquisition adds ferro-vanadium and ferro-molybdenum production to YilMaden’s chrome ore and ferro-chrome assets in Turkey, Sweden, Russia and Kazakhstan. "We want to enter a new market and make sure our company is a ferro-alloys producer, not just a chrome producer. "
