[ferro-alloys.com]  According to the report, along with the fall of export quantity to the largest overseas market- Southeast Asia, at the double-digit rate, China’s steel enterprises are seeking for new export destination in Africa and South America. Specialist said that it is clear that export opportunities for Chinese steelmakers are increasingly limited. Export quantity to traditional market in Vietnam and Korea was decreasing at the rate of double digit since last year, which reflected that the strong opponent like Russia brought the fierce competition. Besides, Antidumping duties imposed on Chinese steel products by southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia have also affected exports of Chinese steels.

Exports to South America and Africa accounted for 8% of China’s overall export quantit in 2017. Exports to the above countries have an obvious growth this year. According to WTO data, there are fewer countries in Africa and South America than Asian countries that have imposed anti-dumping duties and related trade protection measures on Chinese steel products. Along with China’s steelmakers go deep into these markets gradually, they could hit local steel mills like Brazil's.
