It is reported that the Kazchrome company extracted 2.25 million tons ofchrome ore in January to June 2012 a YoY decrease of 2.6%.

Production of sales-quality chrome ore declined by 8.4% to 1.666 million tons, manganese ore output rose 1.7% to 302,000 tons, ferrochrome by 2.8% to 551,000 tons and ferroalloys by 0.3% to 719,000 tons

Manganese ore output grew in the reporting period by 2.9% to 493,000 tons and manganese concentrate production was up 1.9% to 158,000 tons.
