Application Principles and Development Trends of Cored Wire
Wire feeding technology is a general term of production technology and application technology of cored wire, which the realization process is to pack various additives broken into some particle size (deoxidizing agent, desulfurizing agent, alterant, alloys etc.) to be added into molten steel or molten iron with thin steel strip into cored wire of any length on core machine, and then send the cored wire to the bottom of the steel ladle or molten iron ladle through the slag of the surface of molten steel or molten iron at a certain rate with wire feeder. With continuous fusion of skin of the cored wire, the additives packed inside will enter into molten steel or molten iron slowly to achieve the purpose of secondary refining through the interactions between additives and molten steel or molten iron around (deoxygenation, desulfurization, metamorphism, spheroidization, vermiculation, alloying, etc.).
With rapid development of wire feeding technology in all fields, demand of various alloy cored wire has increased day by day. Core machine of high speed of manufacturing molding, high degree of automation and automatic quantitative feeding will be the development direction of production technology of cored wire in future. Besides, developing new type, high efficient and environment-friendly cored wire powder is an important link of continuous development of wire feeding technology.
