As a new generation of product of calcium processing of molten steel, high-calcium seamless cored wire has been widely used in North American and European markets for a long time. Simak Steel and POSCO have been providers of special-purpose materials of calcium processing.

With rising demand of steel industry, many Chinese iron and steel plants have gradually used high-calcium seamless cored wire actively. Rizhao Steel Co., Ltd. cooperated with Shanghai Jiangshangteng Industrial Limited Company repeatedly for trial on using high-calcium seamless cored wire for full production of supporting (competitive product base) in 2015. In order to meet the requirement criterion of technical material of Simak, the two companies succeeded after timeless experiments with joint efforts. In early stage, high-calcium seamless cored wire was invented by Minmet U.K. The sales headquarters of global calcium wire is in India. Almost no one purchased from it because of its expensive price. The product was rarely used in domestic steel plants. It was not imported unless for calcium processing for high end molten steel. At present, only Nanjing Steel Iron and Steel Company and Zhangjiagang (Pohang) Stainless Steel Co., Ltd, use the product for a long time at home, which mainly imported from Minmet.

Central South University has created metal calcium cored wire which has been well known now by simple ways based on seamless cored wire of Minmet, but the product has not yet achieved the best effect of calcium processing the final steelmaking requires. The average calcium yield rate is 15% to 25%, which leads to an uncontrollable situation in the process of steelmaking. The stability of calcium processing in steelmaking can be completely controlled by using high calcium seamless cored wire. It is the most advanced calcium processing in the world with over 50% of calcium yield rate. Now, the price of familiar seamless cored wire is 30,000 yuan to 32,000 yuan per ton internationally and is 18,000 yuan to 22,000 yuan per ton at home. The exclusive price of Zhangjiangang (Pohang) Stainless Co., Ltd is 18,000 yuan per ton (including tax).

Low-price strategy that Shanghai Jiangshangteng Industrial Limited Company implements is to enable the new product to get wide attention in national steel industry and to make a contribution to implementing national brand plan and enabling iron and steel products made in China to come top internationally as soon as possible!
