Jindal Steel and PowerNSE -4.30 % Limited (JSPL), announced appointment of Sudhanshu Saraf as the Chief Executive Officer of Steel Business on Wednesday. The appointment of Saraf comes a day after the company announced the elevation of Naushad Akhter Ansari as joint managing director of JSPL.
In his new role, Saraf will be in charge of domestic and international steel operations of the company with capacities of 10.6 MTPA spread across Angul (Odisha), Raigarh (Chhattisgarh), Patratu (Jharkhand) and Sohar (Oman). His responsibilities would also include the mining business of the company spread across Tensa (Odisha) and key international coal mining operations in Australia, Mozambique and South Africa.

Ansari, who was elevated from his designation as CEO – Steel Business on January 01, 2019, and has been instrumental in leading the turnaround of JSPL. Its six million tonne per annum (mtpa) integrated steel plant at Angul was fully commissioned and completed during his tenure as CEO – Steel Business. Before taking charge as CEO – Steel Business, Ansari was instrumental in completion and successful commissioning of two mtpa integrated steel plant at Sohar(Oman).
