The extra crude steel yield will be provided to NSSMC's different works, including the Kokura segment of Yawata Works in Kyushu - as the factory's 2,150 cu m No 2 blast furnace is relied upon to be closed by March 2021. Its backup Nippon Steel and Sumikin Shapes will begin getting semi-completed items from Wakayama works after it stops tasks at its electric furnace before the finish of March. The Wakayama works additionally has a No 1 blast furnace with inward volume of 3,700 cu m, which last relined in July 2009. Absolute crude steel yield at Wakayama amid the April 2017-March 2018 financial year was 4.57 million mt, as per the organization.
