[Ferro-Alloys.Com]Nucor Corporation will start taking applications from October 22nd 2012 for 150 jobs at the direct
reduced iron plant it's building in St James Parish.
The steelmaker, based in Charlotte, says an online questionnaire to start screening applicants will be available
from October 22nd 2012 through November 2nd 2012 at www.nucorjobslouisiana.com
The questions are meant to identify people interested in hourly production jobs. The company said that workers in
those positions can make up to USD 75,000 a year with performance bonuses.
The USD 750 million first phase of the plant is expected to hire 150 people by year's end. Production is supposed to
begin in mid 2013. The plant will take iron ore and refine it into a raw material for steelmaking.
The company plans up to five phases, which would create 1,250 jobs.
