[Ferro-Alloys.com] Steel futures opened higher Monday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active construction steel rebar contract for January delivery was up 59 yuan (about 8.34 U.S. dollars) to open at 3,561 yuan a tonne.

The most active January 2020 contract for hot rolled coils, mainly used in cars and appliances, was up 59 yuan (about 8.33 U.S. dollars) to open at 3,581 yuan a tonne.

China's largest hard coal producer Yangquan Coal Industry Group has inked a framework agreement with China Mobile and Huawei on promoting 5G-based intelligent mining.

The Indonesian Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry has set the country's coal reference price known as coal benchmark price (HBA) at 65.79 U.S. dollars per metric ton for September, spokesman of the ministry Agung Pribadi said on Monday.
