[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to the National Bureau of Statistics, for the month of August, Chinese production of raw coal was 316.02 million tons, up by 5% vs. the same period in 2018; for the first eight months, the production of raw coal was 2409.286 million tons, up by 4.5% vs. the same period in 2018.

 

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, for the month of August, Chinese production of coke was 40 million tons, up by 4.6% vs. the same period in 2018; for the first eight months, the coke production was 314.774 million tons, up by 6.7% vs. the same period in 2018.

 

Brazilian-based company Vale has been ordered to stop operations at its iron ore mine in Brucutu.

 

The mine is located in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Rio Abaixo in the Minas Gerais province.

 

The iron ore miner said that the suspension will not hamper production at the Brucutu mine.
