Vale expects 70-75m tonnes of iron ore sales in Q1 2020, lowers 2019 guidance

[Ferro-Alloys.com] Brazil’s Vale expects to produce 70-75 million tonnes of iron ore fines and pellets in the first three months of 2020, compared with 72.9 million tonnes in the same quarter of this year.
 
The outlook is based on seasonality, the gradual and safe return of operations and in line with the miner’s margin-over-volume strategy, the miner said on Monday November 11. Vale expects to sell 83-88 million tonnes of iron ore in the October-December period, compared with 96.4 million tonnes in the last three months of last year. (Metal Bulletin)
