[Ferro-Alloys.com] Ukraine's interagency commission on international trade has decided to impose a 50.09% anti-dumping duty on imports of steel wires and wire ropes from Russia into Ukraine for five years. On the basis of a complaint filed by PJSC Stalkanat-Silur Production Association, the interagency commission on international trade decided to launch an anti-dumping investigation into imports into Ukraine of twisted wire ropes and wire ropes from Russia. The commission found that the applicant's share in the total production of these goods in Ukraine exceeds 50%. In 2016-2018, Stalkanat-Silur's production capacity decreased by 10.9%, domestic sales fell by 1.9%, and employment at the enterprise dropped by 47.7%.
The investigation established that these steel wires and wire ropes were imported into Ukraine from Russia at prices lower than selling prices for similar goods made by the national producer on the domestic market. The commission established a causal link between the dumped imports into Ukraine of goods originating in Russia and the threat of material injury to the national producer. (UKR INFORM)
