[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to China Customs, year to date, China exported 7.811 million tons of steel in the first two month of 2020, down by 2.886 million tons (27%) vs. the same period in 2019.

From January to February, 2020, China imported 2.041 million tons of steel, up by 2.1% vs. the same period in 2019.

China's steel sector slowed down in February as market demand weakened amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, a report from the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) showed.

Steel giant China Baowu Steel Group announced Wednesday that it surpassed the Luxembourg-headquartered ArcelorMittal to become the world's largest producer of crude steel in 2019.

CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. reported revenue of 2019 at ￥72.62 billion, up by 0.6% vs. the same period in last year, and  its profit of 2019 was ￥5.386 billion, up by 50.45% than the same period of last year.
