[Fellow]India's coal imports registered a decline of 14.1 per cent to 17.01 million tonnes (MT) in February in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, as per industry data.

[Ferro-Alloys.comIn early March, 2020, crude steel production of key steel mills was 18.086 million tons, pig iron production was 16.9518 million tons, steel products production was 16.7664 million tons and coke production was 3.1288 million tons. Average daily production: crude steel 1808.6 thousand tons, up by 0.06% vs. last ten days and down by 4.02% YoY; pig iron 1695.2 tousand tons, down by 1.41% vs. last ten days and down by 0.49% YoY; steel products production 1676.6 thousand tons, up by 6.46% vs. last ten days and up by 1.11% YoY.

The social steel stock of 5 varieties in early March, 2020 was 20.21 million tons, up by 1.16 million (6.1%) tons than last ten days and up by 13.39 million tons than December, 2019.

A large iron ore deposit has been discovered in northern China's Shanxi Province, with an estimated reserve of around 310 million tonnes, local authorities said Thursday.
