[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to data of China Customs，China exported a total of 2988 tons of ferrosilicon (≤55%) from January to February, 2020, a decrease of around 35.6% year on year.

 

According to data of Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan domestic steel consumption in 2020 is expected a decrease of 0.5 vs. 2019, at around 60 million tons. Plain carbon steel products are expected a decrease of 0.4%, to 47.5 million tons and special steel is expected a decrease of 0.2%, to 12.5 million tons. If the exports increase slightly and imports keep flat with 2019, then its domestic steel production of 2020 is expected to be at the same level as last year.
