[Ferro-Alloys.com] ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has reported on the results of production in Q1 of 2020. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih CEO Mauro Longobardo said “Under the conditions of COVID-19 pandemic, we strive to maintain production volumes, despite the difficulties faced by business worldwide in late February - March this year. Quarantine restrictions in different countries affected the activities of our suppliers and partners, many of them are operating at reduced speeds now. Besides, our customers are also reviewing their orders for steel products, and for our part, we are forced to change the logistics schemes. However, even within the strongest force majeure, in Q1 the level of production of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih’s main products was slightly lower than the business plan and the indicators for the same period last year.”

 

He added “At the same time, in January - March this year we carried out scheduled repairs with relining on converters Nos 2 and 6 of converter shop, on the complexes of sinter machines Nos 2, 3, 4 of sinter shop of metallurgical production, on sinter machines Nos 4, 5, 6 of sinter shop No 1 and on sinter machines Nos 3, 5 of sinter shop No 2. Nowadays we continue the repair on converter No 4, which has been begun at the end of March, as well as the repair of boiler No. 4 of the thermal power station No 2 and sinter machine No 1 of the second sinter shop with the introduction of modern gas purification system. We continue to accumulate all our efforts to ensure stable production process, the safety of our employees, the implementation of investment projects and modernization of the plant.” (STEELGURU)
