US imports of up to 0.5% C low-carbon ferrochrome were 43,874.8 mt in 2012 and 2,544.8 mt in December vs. 53,746.9 mt and 5,102.9 mt, respectively, in the same 2011 periods. The major suppliers in 2012 (same 2011 period in parentheses) were: Russia, 27,771.1 mt (31,378.2 mt); Germany, 5,757 mt (6,537.8 mt); Turkey, 3,813.9 mt (2,773.8 mt) and Japan, 1,787.2 mt (2,656.8 mt).
