  Since the beginning of this year, the global order volume of new shipbuilding has reached 4.815.33 million tons (169 vessels), including 2.4469.92 million tons (66 vessels) of container ships.

  Since the beginning of this year, South Korean shipping enterprises have undertaken a total of 2.496758 million tons (64 ships) of ship orders, including 1.20222 million tons (22 ships) of container ship orders, accounting for 49.1% of global container ship orders.

  In addition, South Korean shipping companies also took orders for oil tankers (69364100 tons, 22 vessels), liquefied petroleum gas carriers (24534800 tons, 11 vessels) and other ship types (184054 tons, 7 vessels).

  According to the analysis, the sharp rise of global ocean freight promotes shipping enterprises to increase their investment in container ships. Shipping enterprises predict that economic recovery will push up the throughput, and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) will increase its environmental protection efforts, which will also promote the increase of container ship orders.
