Among them, imports of long products from non-EU countries fell 19.2% year-on-year. Wire imports fell 6.7% year-on-year to 195,000 tons, while bar imports fell 26.9% year-on-year to 144,000 tons.

During the same period, Italy's imports of flat steel from non-EU countries fell by 24% year-on-year. During the same period, the most imported flat steel products from non-EU countries included coiled steel (2.383 million tons, down 30.1%), cold-rolled plates (683,000 tons, down 17%) and hot-dip galvanized sheets (463,000 tons, down year-on-year) 36.6%).

In 2020, Italy's exports to non-EU countries, long-term product exports fell 14.8% year-on-year, and flat product exports fell 1.8% year-on-year. In particular, rebar exports fell 25% to 429,000 tons, wire rod exports fell 14.8% to 334,000 tons, and railway exports rose 172.4% year-on-year to 79,000 tons. In addition, coil exports fell by 22.5% to 275,000 tons, while hot-rolled sheet exports increased by 33.2% year-on-year to 297,000 tons.

Finally, by 2020, Italy’s seamless pipe exports to non-EU countries totaled 297,000 tons and welded pipe exports were 312,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 26.1% and 29.3% respectively.
