[Ferro-Alloys.com]Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announce that ALVANCE Aluminium Duffel BV has joined as a new Production and Transformation member, bringing the total number of ASI Members to 124. ALVANCE Aluminium Duffel is a European leader in the manufacture and sale of aluminium rolled products for diverse industries worldwide. It features state-of-the art technology, including the widest Automotive cold rolling mill in Europe and a CALP-line (Continuous Annealing Line with Pre-Treatment). We offer aluminium solutions to a variety of end-use industries, including Architecture & Design, Automotive and Industrial applications. Almost everything we make is manufactured to specific customer requirements. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities produce rolled aluminium for everything from highly designed cladding for building facades to automotive body sheet.

The history of ALVANCE Aluminium Duffel dates back to 1946, when Lucien Féron decided to start an aluminium processing plant, called SIDAL (Société Industrielle de l’Aluminium). In 1970, Dutch steel and aluminium group Hoogovens Groep acquired a minority stake in SIDAL. This was followed by a full takeover by Koninklijke Hoogovens NV in 1983. In 1999 the company merged with British Steel. Due to the fact that this new group was focusing on the production of both steel and aluminium, the name was changed to Corus. In March 2006, the aluminium division of Corus was acquired by Aleris. In September 2020, the plant is acquired by ALVANCE Aluminium group, part of GFG Alliance.

Today, the plant employs around 1.000 people and annually produces 200.000 tons of high-value aluminium rolled products.
