China Customs released data on May 9, that China exported 4.977 million tons of steel in April 2022, an increase of 32000 tons over the previous month, a year-on-year decrease of 37.6%; From January to April, a total of 18.156 million tons of steel were exported, a year-on-year decrease of 29.2%.
In April, China imported 956000 tons of steel, a decrease of 55000 tons compared with the previous month, a year-on-year decrease of 18.3%; From January to April, a total of 4.174 million tons of steel were imported, a year-on-year decrease of 14.7%.
In April, China imported 86.056 million tons of iron ore and concentrate, a decrease of 1.227 million tons over the previous month, a year-on-year decrease of 12.7%; From January to April, 354.38 million tons of iron ore and concentrate were imported, a year-on-year decrease of 7.1%.
In April, China imported 23.549 million tons of coal and lignite, an increase of 7.126 million tons over the previous month, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%; From January to April, a total of 75.406 million tons of coal and lignite were imported, a year-on-year decrease of 16.2%.
