[Ferro-Alloys.com] Global commodities mining and trading firm Glencore has lowered its copper production guidance after output fell during the first half of this year, while its other metals production was mixed.
Nickel production from January-June this year stood at 57,800t, 21pc higher than last year as both production lines were operating at Konaimbo, along with stable output at Murrin, which was closed for maintenance during the 2021 period.
The Switzerland-based company's production guidance for zinc and nickel were left unchanged at 980,000-1.04mn t and 113,000-123,000t, respectively.
Ferro-chrome production was up by 2pc to 786,000t, from 773,000t, because of better performance at smelters. Production guidance for ferro-chrome was stable at 1.47mn-1.53mn t, slightly higher than production in 2021, which was at 1.468mn t.
