Organized by the Silicon Committee of China Ferroalloy Industry Association, the fourth information virtual conference of ferrosilicon manufacturers in 2022 was held in the form of video at 15:00 on November 18, 2022. Shi Wanli, Secretary General of China Ferroalloy Industry Association, and about 30 relevant leaders of major ferrosilicon member enterprises of the Association, such as Tengda Northwest Ferroalloy Co., Ltd, Erdos, Sanyuan Zhongtai, Zhongwei Maoye, Sanjiang Energy etc. attended, Shi Yu presided over the conference.

 

Leaders of enterprises have put forward predictions and suggestions on the current situation and the next development -- At present, the production is generally stable, and the inventory is low. This year, the export situation is outstanding, which has become a great help for the ferrosilicon industry to maintain a good development trend. At the same time, as some new projects have been put into production, it is expected that the annual output of ferrosilicon will reach a historical high this year. Enterprises should be careful to avoid the accumulation of stocks caused by oversupply. 

 

As the year 2022 is coming to an end, according to the analysis of participants, it's necessary to work on and influence the tender price of steel mills in December through the Futures. As long as a satisfactory price can be obtained in December, it is expected that the price will be stable in the first quarter of next year. Because during the Spring Festival in January, the steel plant needs to reserve and purchase more, which is expected to be purchased until the end of February, and then it is possible to keep the price firm in March next year.
