[Ferro-alloys.com]At the 10th China Ferro-alloys International Conference held during May 29-31, 2013, Mr Lin Zhitong from CCCMC (China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals& Chemicals Importers& Exporters) delivered speeches on current situation and future development of Chinese ferroalloy industry.

The supply chain of the upper-stream ferroalloy industry was greatly affected as the crude steel output decreased yearly. Exports of Chinese ferroalloy products reached the peak, standing at 330 million tonnes in 2007 and with the year 2008 coming second. Export volume began to greatly decrease after 2008 and exports had declined to 60 million tonnes till 2012. Export price of Chinese ferroalloys was the highest in 2011 and started to drop in 2012.

Japan and South Korea were the main importers of Chinese ferroalloys, Chinese ferroalloy products dominated the two markets in the period of 2002-2011 and were overtaken by Vietnam in 2012.

Under the circumstances of sharply reduced exports, lowered export price and dropped status, Chinese ferroalloys exports faced terribly severe challenges and Chinese ferroalloy exporters would run worrying businesses.
