[Ferro-alloys.com]Brazilian ferro-alloys producer Ferbasa is investing in a new furnace, which will increase the company’s ferro-silicon production capacity by 20,000 tpy.
The new furnace – which will increase ferro-silicon capacity to 110,000 tpy from the current 90,000 tpy – is at an advanced stage, and works are expected to be concluded in January 2014. “We’ll be able to provide all the ferro-silicon for Brazil from next year on,” Geraldo de Oliveira Lopes, president of Ferbasa, told Metal Bulletin.
