Southern Magnesium & Chemicals  said a  drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2013.  During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 40.36% to Rs 1.57 million from Rs 2.63 million  in the same quarter previous year.
 
Net sales for the quarter declined 17.13% to Rs 6.30 million, compared with Rs 7.60 million for the prior year period.
 
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 0.52, registering 40.91% decline over previous year period.
