[ferro-alloys.com] After Taiwan stainless steel rolling mill announced to hike the price, the transaction stainless steel enjoyed a pick-up of TWD 1,000 to TWD 2,000 per tonne in the first week of August in the Taiwanese market.

Market participants estimated that without the threat from imported cheap resource and the result of anti-dumping investigation towards the Chinese and South Korean stainless steel which will be issued this week, the stainless steel transaction quantity and price will go up.

The stainless steel distributors also began to increase the price by TWD 1,000 to TWD 2,000 per tonne.

Because of the shortage of raw material, stainless steel rolling mills had no choice but to increase the price to control the quantity of received orders, helping the market become active gradually.
