[ferro-alloys.com] The latest news showed that the HC FeCr import price of Japanincreased to 92-95 cents/1b (CIF Japan) from 88-92 cents/1b (CIF Japan) because of material cost increasing.
Recently there were two transactions about it. One was that more than 200 tons of FeCr sold at 95 cents/ 1b (CIF Japan) and shipped from the southeast port of India in October. The other was that 100-150 tons of FeCr sold at 94- 95 cents/ 1b (CIF Japan) and shipped from the east coast of India in November.
A producer from India said that the price rose owing to the labor disputes of state-owned mining in the early time of this year, which led to the chrome ore supply down. OrissaMining Corporation sold 10,000 tons of various grades chrome ore. The producer increased the chrome ore price in September, up 20% m-o-m.
At present the market demand of chrome ore increased all over the world. In the past one month, a Korean dealer said that they had sold 2000 tons of Pakistan chrome ore to China. 42-44% grade price was USD 280/mt. (CIF China).
Meantime Japanese buyers said that 60% FeCr spot transaction situation was not good this week. The latest news that a steel mill bought 3000 tons used for the forth quarter production, but the concrete price was still not uncertain. And 65 grade FeCr was offered at 97 cent/1b (CIF Japan). The transaction amount was 20-40 tons in other areas expect for steel mill.
Expect for Japan, the Korean had sold more than 500 tons of FeCr at 88-89/mt. An India producer said that the price was also reasonable in Japan. Because the freight to Japan was higher 5 cent/1b than Korean’s and the price usually could reach 94-95cent/1b (CIF Japan).
