It is reported that Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has sent out 5 inspection teams in later Sep to carry out inspection and instruction work for the mini metallurgical plants clearance in local 14 prefectures. So far, a total of 121 plants have been verified; of which, 65 have been closed, with the equipments for 30 of them been dismantled.

 

As per report, all levels of governments in local have worked out plans for close down, operation suspension or innovation for those plants continuing operating. Most of local small coking and coke plants have been shut down, with the majority of earth kiln, improved coke oven and equipments been demolished. Mini foundries and ferroalloy producers are also managing about the environmental issues at the moment.

 

Local government has convened a liquidate and consolidate work conference Wed, requiring strengthened supervision on the closed plants to avoid possible resurgence.
