PrintChina Knowledge reported that Maanshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd the second-largest steelmaker in China has inked supply contract with US based General Electric Co for 2009.
According to the report, under the terms of the agreement, Maanshan Steel will continue to supply locomotive wheel products to GE in the coming year. However, no more details on the deal were revealed.
The Chinese steel maker has shipped a total of 55,269 pieces of locomotive wheel products to GE since 2002 and has been awarded the Best Supplier by the latter in 2007.
The Anhui province-based steel maker said it would ensure the timely delivery of all the products GE has ordered next year despite the influence of the global financial crisis and expects to maintain a long-term partnership with GE.
