PrintJapanese steelmaker Kobe Steel and India's Essar Steel signed a partnership agreement on November 29, Kobe Steel announced Monday.
Under the agreement, Kobe Steel will provide technology guidance at Essar's Hazira plant in western India. It will share its expertise in production and quality management of sheet and plate products, management of plant facilities and cutting energy consumption.
In return, Essar may begin supplying steel pellet, slab or other raw materials to Kobe Steel, but the details of this were still under discussion, the Kobe official said. –Platts
